About

A running list of things about me.

1.  I am, first and foremost, a follower of Jesus Christ and a daughter of the King of Kings. Everything I do, everything I think...I strive to filter through that truth.

2.  My other titles include: wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Like most women, I am sometimes guilty of being so busy trying to be all those things to everyone that I forget to just be me.

3.  I love animals and have always had pets. Currently, I have a 10-year-old Toy Poodle named Daisy; and a Maine Coon kitten (6 months as of this writing) named Jasper. I've always been more of a dog person, but the Maine Coon is making me a fan. I've also had chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, fish, parakeets, and a pygmy goat.

4.  Jobs I have held include: factory worker, retail clerk, office assistant, school bus driver, activities aide at a nursing home, and companion to adults with developmental disabilities.
As of this writing, I am about to become unemployed. By choice. If my husband has his way, I won't ever return to work. We'll see. I don't plan on looking for a job until after our vacation in September, if at all.

5.  I've been married since I was 20. To the same guy. That will be 38 years in November (2022).

Then.

And now.

6.  We have two children: a son who is 35; and a daughter who is 29.
Our son lives in Pittsburgh. Our daughter lives next door.

7.  We have 4 grandchildren, 2 boys and 2 girls.

Our daughter's children. These kids are the light of my world.

8.  My greatest disappointment in life is that we have no communication with our son. He has chosen to cut himself and his children off from his family. All of them, not just us.

9.  I met my biological father and 2 of my 3 half-siblings for the first time in 2020 at the age of 55.

My half-sister, my father, and me.

10.  I love reading. Kindle, Nook, paperback, hardcover, magazines, the back of the cereal box...it doesn't matter.

11.  My favorite reads are cozy mysteries, rom-coms, and action-adventure.

12.  I do not have a book problem. I have a storage problem. It is not too many books, but not enough shelves to put them on that is the problem.

13.  I collect books. Classics, first editions, signed editions, cookbooks, and fabulously illustrated children's books.

14.  My religious views are conservative.

15.  My politics are also conservative.

16.  The television shows I enjoy tend to be crime dramas, comedies, and paranormal "reality" shows.

17.  I like action-adventure and rom-coms when it comes to movies...and I will overdose on Hallmark and cheesy holiday flicks at Christmas.

18.  My dream car is a Ford Mustang in Grabber Blue with black rally stripes. I'd settle for a new SUV.

19.  If I'm going out to eat or getting take-out it will most likely be either Mexican, Chinese, seafood, or pizza...or a BIG salad (we throw meat and french fries in them), but I do like most foods and consider myself a bit of a foodie.

20.  Diet Coke is my addiction drink of choice.

21.  Other than a bookstore, the store I'm most likely to get giddy over is the office supply store...blank planners and journals and all those pens! They are like a drug.

22.  I enjoy hunting for a great deal or a real treasure at yard sales, thrift stores, flea markets, and auctions
.
23.  I enjoy cooking, but I'm not crazy about doing the dishes.

24.  I like gardening.

25.  I am a trained, educated, practiced, and legal gun owner.

26.  I may not like your views, but I will respect your right to them and I would fight to defend that right.

27.  I spent part of my childhood in a wildlife preserve that my dad managed. It was amazing...like living in one of those grainy wildlife documentaries from the 70's.

28.  I enjoy all kinds of music, but I am usually listening to music from the 70's and 80's or Christian music.

29.  My favorite weekend getaway is touring the wine country along the Pennsylvania/New York border.

30.  My favorite season is Autumn. Winter is too cold and gray. Spring is too wet and muddy. Summer is too hot.
