Sunday Stealing: Countdown From 5

It's good to see Sunday Stealing back again. I've played along off and on for years and while the last few years it's been more "off" I do like to join in when I have the time. I wonder about our former host, Bev. I know her health was not good so I hope and pray she is okay.

COUNTDOWN FROM 5. Stolen from Kwizgiver, ca. 2011. She originally counted down from 10, but we are not that ambitious.

FIVE people who mean the world to you.

(I'll skip the obvious answer, Jesus, because he means more than the world to me, anyway.)

1. Husband

2. Daughter

3. Grandson

4. Granddaughter

5. And even though he has chosen to have nothing to do with us...my son will always be my son.

FOUR things you fear.

1. Snakes

2. Swimming in the ocean (Thanks, Jaws!)

3. Being old and alone

4. Being old and stuck in a nursing home

THREE words to describe how you feel right now.

1. Sick

2. Achy

3. Tired

TWO things you're excited about.

1. Making beaded items with my daughter and our first craft show coming up this month.

2. Actually having vacation days to use this year.

ONE thing you'd like to say to someone.

1. I'm retiring. Sadly, that is not to be for several years yet. I need my job for the insurance and also because at this point I have to work until I'm 67 to get my full Social Security benefits.

Blast off!

  1. I"m so sorry to hear you are ill. Get better soon!
I retired early due to some spine issues but am choosing to wait until age 70 before getting the SS. Of course by then (5 y rs from now) who the heck knows what's gonna happen with this circus show in D.C?? ugh.
I also put snakes as something to fear!!

  3. Sorry to hear you and your friend Bev have been so sick. It's awful to feel trapped in a failing body and not know what to do. 💔 Both of you get well soon!
I feel concern over being in a Nursing Home as well. I've left explicit directions to NOT allow this to happen. Lord willing, I will find another path before Jesus calls me Home.
    Blessings. 💖🍀

  4. All I know about Bev is from her blog: https://funnytheworldcom.blogspot.com. Another blogger let Bud know she had quit "stealing" and Bud put out a notice, asking others to step up. No one volunteered so he pressed me into service. Guess it's my destiny to fill everyone's weekend with mirth! ;) I love that you and your daughter are working together on a project. The conversations as you do your beading are probably just as important as the crafts themselves.

  5. I'll be retiring in a couple of years and I can't wait! It will be 30 years of teaching at this school. And with the current threats to education, it's the right time for me to be bow out gracefully.

  7. Hi Stacy. I hear you about retiring! I've got about 15 months to go in the classroom. I can get full social security at 66 and 10 months, then I'm out of there! I know how you feel about your son. I feel the same about my oldest daughter and my oldest son, neither of which we hear from. They will always be my precious children and I will always love them! I hope you have a good week!

  9. I am sorry you're sick. I am friends with Bev on Facebook and she is ok but more bedridden than not, I'm afraid. She's had some bumps in her life (including a fall) in the last several months. I can't get my full SS until the same age as you, but I am going to draw it early and start this year.

  10. I'm sorry you are still feeling sick. I quit doing the Sunday Stealing because it wasn't fun anymore. I will have to start paying attention again! This one is fun. Feel better, Stacy! If those vacation days can bring you to Florida, be sure to let me know!! xo
