I am...
Reading... A Murder Between the Pages by Amy Lillard.
Watching... The Sandlot, an oldie but a goodie.
Listening to... early fireworks going off in the neighborhood.
Loving... that The Meadows is finally open and we can get yummy frozen custard treats without having to drive to Greensburg or New Alexandria.
Thinking... about my to-do list for tomorrow.
Feeling... mellow.
Celebrating... Independence Day, of course, though "celebrating" may be too strong of a term. We aren't actually doing anything tomorrow for the first time ever. Our son-in-law wanted to do something with his parents, especially since they lost his brother last year. It would be nice if we could all just get together at the kids' home, but our sil's parents are....well, odd. If they knew would be there they wouldn't come. If we just showed up they'd leave. There's no problem between us. They are like that with everyone. They are just sort of anti-social.
Anyway, Tim is going to put new brakes on his truck and maybe I can finally get caught up on some household chores. I also have a cake and pasta salad to make for Wednesday as we are celebrating a favorite client's 70th birthday (actually on the 4th). He doesn't have any family so he will really be surprised.
Grateful... my boss was understanding about me not wanting to take one of the clients out after work anymore. She took money out of my purse a while back and I gave her a second chance, but while we were out last week she did some shoplifting while we were at the mall. I didn't find out until later. I can't be out with someone I can't trust or that gives me reason to fear I will get in trouble because of her.
Enjoying... any time I spend with Colton and Leah. They are growing up so fast!
The weather... mostly clear and 70 degrees...and pretty humid. Tomorrow's high will be right around 80 degrees and thunderstorms are in the forecast.
Giggles...
You can never be too patriotic! |
Wishing you a beautiful July 4th. We weren't invited to anything family related...so it's just us. It is what it is, so I can relate..sigh.
ReplyDeleteWe aren't doing anything today either. We're at church this morning and are having an open house prayer time from 10:30-12:00. After that I'm going to run to the grocery for a couple of things and then we plan to pick up a sandwich for lunch. We're having hamburgers, baked beans, and deviled eggs for dinner. Planning to enjoy every minute! Happy Independence Day!
ReplyDeleteThat's just creepy about your client's 'sticky fingers'; I'm glad your boss is supportive. We're not doing anything special, either. It was pretty cool, however, watching the West Point Band playing on Hoda & Jenna earlier. That music always brings tears to my eyes.
ReplyDeleteLots of good giggles!! So sad about your shop-lifting client. You are sure right to not take her anywhere anymore. Hope you and Tim got your chores done and that your SIL's folks had a good visit with their kiddos. How strange and sad!!
