These weird (but genius) little rubber boots for the kitchen stools.
Pentatonix's version of Hallelujah.
A blister that's healed enough to wear socks and shoes again.
The sunburn from 2 weeks ago is finally done peeling.
Fresh (relatively) corn-on-the-cob in the grocery store.
The rains have kept them from digging up our street, which includes our yard, to put in a new catch basin and drain pipes to prevent flooding on the next street over from us. Not looking forward to the mess and noise just to keep a small section of a street from being covered with a bit of water.
The 20th Anniversary luncheon for the Faith in Action charity I attended with my mom yesterday. It was very nice.
The lovely centerpieces that were made and donated by someone and are next going on to decorate a Roaring 20's wedding.
The Valley School of Ligonier, a private school I attended nearly 50 years ago, provided entertainment. This photo is of the show choir who sang a medley of Beatles' songs and Disney songs.
They also brought their percussion group who played the Mission Impossible theme.
And finally, they brought the handbell choir, who performed a medley of Beatles' songs. This is the same group I belonged to when I attended the school...though it's now an elective. When I attended every girl HAD to participate.
It's payday!
And things I'm not liking so much today...
My daughter calling by 8:00 nearly EVERY. STINKING. MORNING. to make a claim on my time. I sympathize with her anxiety and other issues...I do, but anyone who doesn't think they take a toll on those around them is WRONG.
Two more calls to ask if I'm ready to take the kids yet.
Gas prices went up again today. It's now $4.45/gallon.
One watermelon cost $9 yesterday.
Having to leave my nice cozy house to go out in the rain to get prescriptions filled.
My cat. He's having one of his wild mornings.
Every night my husband untucks the sheets at the bottom and pulls the fitted sheet off the mattress at the top. Every day is like making the bed up fresh. I'd get a job at a hotel if I wanted to have to do that! How does he even manage it?
The White House's wishy-washy stand on the media and others disclosing the home addresses of the Supreme Court justices so people can protest and harass them at their homes. No matter where you stand on the abortion issue, that should be a completely unacceptable action.
Can you let your daughter know you need some extra sleep and to call later? Maybe make a schedule? It is hard to say no to the ones we love. I keep you in prayer about it. The luncheon looks like it turned out so nice! Did I say I hate politics?!
Nice feel-goods and I'm so sorry for your dislikes. As for the sheet problem, I purchased elastic clips that you put on the sheets and it keeps them tucked. They actually work pretty good. I completely agree with you! There is NO WAY it's OK to harass Supreme Court Justices. The American founders wanted the court to be completely apolitical. The luncheon looks very nice. I hope you have a great weekend. Happy Mother's Day to you!
Sounds like a really nice luncheon. I love a handbell choir and would so love to try playing in one.
ReplyDeleteRainy day here too! And I am loving it. Lovely luncheon! And $9.00 for a watermelon?! Unbelieveable.
